Spiritual Warfare & Witchcraft: How to Stand Strong in the Spirit
We are not just facing difficult times; we are living through a spiritual war. Many believers sense it: the pressure, the confusion, the spiritual fatigue that seems to hit out of nowhere. This is more than anxiety. More than a bad day. These are targeted attacks against your spirit, your clarity, your peace, and your purpose. Spiritual warfare is real, and in these last days, witchcraft is operating in bold and subtle ways to weaken the body of Christ.
Witchcraft isn’t always the Hollywood version with candles and cauldrons. In Scripture, witchcraft also refers to manipulation, domination, rebellion, control, and counterfeit authority. It hides in modern trends, in false teachings, and in the spiritual environments we tolerate but shouldn't. Some of us feel the weight in our homes, through toxic relationships, strange dreams, or random heaviness we can't explain. Others encounter it through fatigue, confusion, or even targeted attacks from people who seem to "watch" them spiritually. These are spiritual intrusions, and they require spiritual solutions.
As someone who has lived through intense spiritual warfare, including community-level harassment and spiritual monitoring, I can tell you this: you cannot fight what you won’t name. You must first recognize when something is more than just natural. Spiritual warfare often masks itself in emotional overwhelm, mental fog, or physical exhaustion. But the Holy Spirit gives discernment. If your spirit is feeling unrest while everything seems “normal” on the surface, don’t ignore that inner alarm.
Witchcraft can operate subtly, often cloaked in gossip. If someone constantly brings negativity into your space, speaks fearful predictions over your life, or attempts to control your decisions, they are engaging in witchcraft. The Jezebel spirit, narcissism, and controlling behaviors are all rooted in this spiritual manipulation.
The devil is a legalist. He cannot enter your life without access and access comes through agreement. If you engage with witchcraft, even to cleanse yourself using its methods, you are giving Satan a legal right to operate in your life.
Attacks from witches often happen during the spiritual watch hours; typically between 12 and 3 AM. These hours are targeted for astral projection, monitoring spirits, and demonic interference in dreams. They use nightmares, illusions of death, and fear to manipulate your mind and energy. Food can also be used as a weapon as well, whether by speaking curses over it or putting things in it to harm you spiritually or physically. Be cautious of people trying to feed you often, especially during spiritual attacks.
Even clothing and personal items like underwear can be used in binding rituals. Always be careful where you leave your belongings. Items left outside, especially undergarments, can be used in tying spells. Witches may even shape-shift or appear as animals. As they grow in wickedness, they rise in satanic spiritual rank and gain more demonic power.
Many witches are born into this through generational covenants. Breaking free requires deliverance and breaking these covenants through Jesus Christ. Some even use the trapped souls of those who died tragically to fuel their assignments. They learn ancient symbols and practices from low-ranking demonic entities and become slaves to these spirits, feeding and worshipping them in exchange for power. Practices like Santería are examples of this.
It’s critical to distinguish herbal knowledge blessed by God from that which invokes spirits or elementals. Curanderos may mix both. Any invocation of non-God sources is still witchcraft. Across all cultures, witchcraft exists. Though it differs in ritual, the intent remains; manipulating energy, aura, and will. Whether it’s blood rituals, spells, or enchantments, it’s all a form of domination and control.
Disney stories like Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Tiana all subtly introduce elements of witchcraft and the use of djinn or magical forces. These are early introductions meant to desensitize children.
Scripture even tells us in Genesis 6:1–5 that fallen angels came to Earth and taught forbidden knowledge to women. Much of modern occultism stems from these fallen ones.
Many holidays are rooted in pagan traditions. Halloween celebrates death and witchcraft. Easter stems from fertility rituals and orgies (sex magic) in honor of Ishtar.
Standing Strong: What God Taught Me
The devil uses laws. He must receive permission. And most of the time, we give permission through agreements we don’t realize we’ve made. Agreement is the open door. It could be fear-based, sexual-based, emotional-based, or soul-based. But the principle of agreement is enough for the devil to begin operating.
I began to see all of this through my relationship with my daughter’s father. It started when I noticed strange things happening around my daughter.
One day, when my daughter was two years old, she was sleeping in her bunk bed. I had secured her in carefully. The bed had a plastic border, so she couldn’t have rolled off. I decided to also take a nap, it felt like I had been sleeping for hours when it had only been maybe 30 minutes. I was awoken by the sound of her moaning from the floor. She was STILL sleeping so I knew she hadn’t fallen off the bed. I found her face down on the floor.
The thing is: she could not have climbed out. The way the bed was designed and the way she was tucked in made it impossible and I had laid her down face up.
It freaked me out enough I called my Grand Uncle in Dominican Republic to ask him to pray for us because he was a Pentecostal Minister and Exorcist.
This was not the first time this had happened. When she was five months old, I had changed her diaper on the bed. She was lying on her back, just a baby. Then we both fell asleep under the covers, my head touching her little forehead. When I woke up , again; it had felt as if I had been sleeping for days, when it had only been an hour and I found her on top of the blanket, in reverse position ( her feet to my head), without a diaper on. It freaked me out and made me decide to get her baptized in the Catholic church as soon as possible.
It seems impossible, yet it happened.
Years later, and most recently when she was twelve, I caught her sleepwalking to the window. She was about to open it in her sleep. I grabbed her, and she cried. She told me she thought she was going to the bathroom. She had never slept walked in her life.
Immediately, I knew: this was not normal. It was witchcraft in every situation. I knew her father had been practicing witchcraft, but for many years it appeared as if his other partner who was jealous of me and my child had been doing it. While it could be that he had also manipulated her into doing some things early on in the relationship, I am very certain now that she was the scapegoat and it had been him all along pulling the strings, trying to gain access to my blessings and destiny. Since my daughter was old enough the last time (with the sleep walking), I explained to her she had no need to be frightened but now she knew what she had to do. They were trying to infiltrate again I explained. They couldn’t get to me; especially since I had a strict routine of fasting and prayer, so they were going after the children. I was also being tested by the enemy, to see if I’d retaliate in the flesh, go back to my old habits, or come into agreement with fear and witchcraft again. In the past I would have gone to someone and tried to return the root work back to sender etc., but not anymore. The enemy no longer had any license over me.
I told my daughter not to worry. I explained that this was spiritual, not natural. We began to pray and fast together.
My children have all witnessed many things. They’ve had dreams of being chased by dogs, eating food with hair in it, or being attacked by strange, entities; identical to dreams I had myself. They’ve seen strangers speak curses, and witnessed people showing up and calling at strange, synchronized times. Patterns repeated no matter where we moved.
They grew up learning how to fight in the Spirit alongside me. Our home was not only a refuge, it was a battlefield and a spiritual training ground. Their souls have received a crash course in spiritual awakening and warfare; one most people don’t get until adulthood, if at all. These experiences are also shaping their discernment, sharpening their spirits, and teaching them the power of Jesus Christ to overcome the forces of darkness, even if it can be a bit uncomfortable at times I imagine if they chose me as their mom, it’s necessary for their soul expansion.
Witchcraft in the Mundane
We are no longer afraid. We know the truth: Jesus Christ is Lord, and all power belongs to Him. When we break agreement, we break the contract. The devil has no access unless you give it.
So if you’re reading this and you feel like strange things have happened around your children, or you feel constantly attacked, confused, or surrounded by people who try to control you—step back and ask yourself:
What have I agreed with?
Because witchcraft only works when we allow it. Refuse to fear. Refuse to come into agreement.
You are already free in Christ. Now live like it.
The moment I started reclaiming my spiritual authority, I noticed a shift. It wasn’t just about quoting Scripture, it was about believing it, declaring it out loud, and aligning my daily habits and inner life with God's truth. When I stopped tolerating spiritual chaos and began closing open doors, I felt a difference. I had to examine my habits, my media intake, my conversations, even who I allowed to speak into my life. Witchcraft thrives where there is passivity. But when you rise up in the Spirit, witchcraft begins to lose power.
I learned to speak boldly:
“I do not partner with confusion.”
“No weapon formed against me will prosper.”
“God has not given me a spirit of fear, but power, love, and a sound mind.”
These are not just words. They are spiritual weapons.
The most important thing you must learn is to come out of agreement and avoid coming into agreement. The devil, being tricky, tries to make us accept things so we come into agreement without our knowledge. In one example, I knew several people in the building where I lived were doing npc targeting shenanigans a.k.a. “simming” and the owner of all the apartments in the building created a WhatsApp group with all the tenants to communicate easier. I immediately came out of the group. For me, this wasn’t harmless; this was an attempt at bringing me into agreement. When people ask you to take on certain tasks in aiding them with their problems, you are both coming into agreement because you are giving access to yourself. When you are fornicating with people who have demons, you are coming into agreement with their demons too.
You must learn to come out of agreement. Even with subtle things, be watchful. Be prayerful! The Holy Spirit will reveal when something isn’t right.
How to Guard Your Spirit Daily
Stay in the Word – It sharpens your discernment and strengthens your identity. The Word cuts through lies and gives you spiritual clarity.
Fast & Pray – Fasting weakens the flesh and sharpens the spirit. When paired with prayer, it breaks chains.
Close Open Doors – Renounce anything that gives the enemy legal access—this includes occult entertainment, soul ties, resentment, and spiritual passivity.
Worship as Warfare – Praise shifts the atmosphere. Worship is a declaration of whose authority you’re under.
Speak with Authority – Declare Scripture out loud. Don’t whisper your identity,own it. The enemy responds to spoken truth.
Final Thought
If you’ve been under intense attack, you’re not imagining it. You’re likely highly called. The enemy only fights what threatens him. Witchcraft doesn’t bother people who are already spiritually dull, it targets those who carry light, truth, and breakthrough power. That’s why some of us face extreme levels of isolation, rejection, or attacks that don’t make logical sense. But take heart: God is not only with you, He’s equipping you.
Stand up. Speak out. Guard your spirit.
We are not weak, confused victims. We are warriors.
Covered by the blood. Seated in heavenly places. Armed with divine power.
